A Day in the Life of a Networked Designer, 2030 Project

(Promotional Poster for the Pratt Gallery Showing)

I have always loved science fiction and projecting toward the future, so last year, when Tom Klinkowstein (my thesis advisor from the Pratt Institute and previous professor) asked me if I would write part of the text to what was to become a visual, futuristic look into a graphic designer's life in the year 2030, I was thrilled. The 1 x 30 meter (approximately 3.25 x 97.5 feet) "diagrammatic narrative" about a fictional designer's future day (entitled A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NETWORKED DESIGNER'S SMART THINGS OR A DAY IN A DESIGNER'S NETWORKED SMART THINGS) will be on exhibition at DesignCenter Winkelhaak, in Antwerp, Belgium until August 31st. The project is about "smart things" and how a designer will interact with these elements in the year 2030.
