According to a recent NPR article, after 50 years of using the font
Futura,
Ikea has changed their font family to
Verdana, creating a bit of a backlash in the design-conscious world. The company's spokesperson explained that the change was in an effort to reach people via digital and printed media. Therefore,
Verdana was a more cross-platform font option, due to its legibility on screen and paper.
I say, "Bravo,
Ikea. Bravo!"
