I highly recommend spending an afternoon at the Met rooftop sculpture garden (officially, the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden). Amazing view of the park, perfect fall weather, very cool installations. Right now they're showing British sculptor
Anthony Caro's steel structures through Oct 30th.
