Tri Life

Last weekend, I successfully completed my first triathlon in Staten Island, the Patanella Pancake Sprint (transition area pictured above). Now, you may be thinking, what does this have to do with graphic design? Well, this morning I came across a running quote from Mitchell Naufell, “Set your goals high because what a person accomplishes is in proportion to what they attempt.” I thought this was overly applicable to our industry, especially since it seems that the design world is constantly changing context, application, technology, and job descriptions, and part of what separates the new from the obsolete is the designer’s ability to change with the times, set and accomplish new goals, and look toward the future.
